What We Check
Our Cryopump Testing Process
- Overall assessment performed; cryopump made operational in current condition to identify problematic areas before testing begins
- Main sealing surface visually inspected for scratches, dings, and wear. Conflat knife edges must be in near-perfect condition; nicks, dings, or deep scratches are not tolerated
- 15K and 80K arrays inspected for corrosion and degradation; replaced as necessary
- Radiation shield inspected for corrosion and degradation; repaired or replaced as necessary
- Pump can inspected for corrosion and deformation. Deformed pump cans are not sold; cans needing electro-polishing are sent out
- Heat pump inspected for wear and operated to assess performance and audible noises indicating mechanical wear; rebuilt (interior cleaned, seals and bearings replaced) if needed
- Regeneration purge fitting inspected, verified, and seals replaced as necessary
- Pressure relief valve inspected, verified, and seals replaced as necessary
- Hydrogen vapor bulb assembly inspected, verified, and replaced as necessary
- Silicon diode temperature sensor inspected, verified, and replaced as necessary
- Cryogenic performance verified and leak checked
